Characteristics that May Be Cause for Concern

Under the Age of Two:

  1. Limited eye contact
  2. Very few gestures, such as waving and pointing
  3. Lack of response to name
  4. Repetitive movements with objects or body
  5. Lack of showing and sharing

Two Years and Older:

  1. Oppositional or defiant behavior
  2. Inattention
  3. Hyperactivity
  4. Physical aggression toward peers
  5. Anxiety
  6. Emotional dependence (separation distress)
  7. Timidity or shyness
  8. Sadness or depression
  9. Lack of empathy for others
